Desk Drawer Organisation Tips

Unorganised and messy drawers are so last year! At Aspin Group we have provided an insightful guide which is packed full of handy organisational tips to keep your desk looking neat, tidy, and you can find everything you need within a matter of seconds.

Remove everything out of each draw

This is the first step to organisation. Empty each draw into a cardboard box or a space where you can see everything clearly.

Clean each draw out to remove dirt, dust, and anything that may have built up over time. Then sort through the things in your draw into sections. Things to keep in draws, things to go on your desk, and things to trash.

After organising your possessions into sections, then you can place everything back without all of the clutter. A great way to keep your drawers organised is to purchase some drawer organisers to allow you to see your belongings much easier and in an orderly fashion.

Organise your drawers by function

This next step is to prioritise your belongings into the different drawers. For example, stationery in one and personal belongings in another. This way you’re keeping everything in check, and you can see what needs to be prioritised.

TOP TIP: Frequently used items should be placed to the front of the drawer and towards the top of the unit for a quick and easier access.

Organise loose wires and clutter

Messy cables can cause much more clutter in drawers than you expect. To avoid mess, opt for a wire organiser or Velcro wrap ties. This keeps wires neat, tidy, and avoids them from getting damaged amongst the other items you have in your drawers. Another organisational tip is to label each wire to save time searching for what you need.

Empty space is often a good thing

It’s important to remember that empty space can be a good thing to keep. An empty drawer great for future needs if you have paperwork arriving or new equipment.
